Orlando J. Cacciato of New Providence, NJ passed away at Overlook Hospital, Summit, NJ, on January 25, 2013 at the age of 84.
Visitation will be held in Paul Ippolito Berkeley Memorial 646 Springfield Ave., Berkeley Heights, NJ on Wednesday, Jan. 30th , from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral will begin in the funeral home on Thursday, Jan. 31st at 9 AM followed by the Funeral Mass in St. Vincent de Paul Church, Stirling, NJ at 10 AM. Entombment will take place at Somerset Hills Mausoleum, Basking Ridge, NJ.
Orlando was born in Brooklyn, NY and has lived in New Providence, NJ since 1965.
He was owner and operator of The Friendly Cobbler in Berkeley Heights from 1963 to 1998 when he retired. For the last 12 years he has been a crossing guard for the Township of New Providence.
Orlando served in the Army and was honorably discharged. He was a member of the Stirling Elks, New Providence V.F.W. and a member with the Long Hill Senior Citizens.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Geraldine "Geri" (nee Madonna), his loving children Joseph Cacciato and Angela Marchant both of New Providence. Cherised grandfather of Charlie and Joe Marchant. Dear brother of Angelina, Paulie, Mary, Orizo, Anastasia, Georgette and the late Rose, Angelo and Louisa.
Orlando was a devoted family man and took care of everyone. He will be greatly missed.
