JAMES NORMAN NASTO

James Norman Nasto of New Providence passed away after a brief illness on February 19, 2013.
Jim was born in Jersey City, on December 2, 1947, the eldest son of the late Salvatore and Gertrude Nasto.

Jim has lived in New Jersey his entire life and in New Providence since 1960. He was a graduate of New Providence High School, attended Newark College of Engineering and technical schools and turned a passion for fast cars into a career as a master auto mechanic. Jim and his son Eddie operated J.E.M. Automotive, which became a cornerstone in the center of New Providence for over 40 years and recently retired. He was a caring, happy and friendly person who provided exceptional service to his clients.

Jim loved his family, animals - especially his dog Freckles, the outdoors and the Jersey Shore.

Jim is survived by Maureen (nee Mucci), his loving wife of 34 years, his son Edward and his wife Sarah of New Providence. He is also survived by his large extended family, his sister Barbara and Joseph Gates of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, brother Steven and Joanne of New Providence, his sister Diane and William Gonzalez of Mount Laurel, his brother Thomas and Grace of Marlton, his brother Christopher and Deanna of Mount Laurel, his sister Anita and Frank Bremer of Burlington, his brother Edward and Kathy of Eastampton and his many nieces and nephews, including Glen, Ronald, Jr., Jodi, and Terry Tagliareni, and the Nasto clan. Jim touched many lives and will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends.
