Carmella "Mildred" Cipolaro (nee Benevengo), 89, of Madison, NJ passed away at Sunrise Assisted Living, Madison, NJ, on Thursday, January 3, 2013.
Visitation will be held in Paul Ippolito Berkeley Memorial, 646 Springfield Ave., Berkeley Heights, NJ on Sunday, Jan. 6th, from 2-6 PM. The funeral will begin in the funeral home on Monday, Jan. 7th at 9 AM followed by the Funeral Mass at Corpus Christi Church, Chatham, at 10 AM. Interment will follow in Fair Mount Cemetery, Chatham. Mildred was born in Newark, NJ to the late Orazio and Veturia (Boffa) Benevengo . She was a graduate of East Side Commercial and Technical High School and was employed by Celanese Newark until she married Henry Cipolaro, a highly decorated World War II veteran, in 1947. Together they moved to New Providence, NJ then, in 1956, to Chatham, NJ. A widow since 1978, Mildred had moved to Berkeley Heights, NJ in 1986 and resided there until relocating to Madison in 2011.
Mildred was an avid golfer and was an original member of Fairmount Country Club in Chatham as well as a longtime parishioner of Corpus Christi Church in Chatham. She had worked as a saleswoman for Bonwit Teller in Short Hills before retiring.
Mildred was the beloved wife of the late Henry Cipolaro, Sr. Loving mother of Henry Cipolaro, Jr. and his wife, Barbara, and Robert Cipolaro and his wife, Marian. Cherished grandmother of Wendy Haile, and Janine, Tom, Matthew, Andrew, and Robert, Jr. Cipolaro. Dear sister of the late Edward Benevengo, Gerry Armanante, and Grace Armanante Pavlisko.
