Obituary

Monica T. Cunningham, nee Casey, died peacefully with her family by her side on December 7, 2012 at Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest Hospital in Allentown, PA after a short illness, she was 90.

Visitation will be held at the Paul Ippolito Memorial Funeral Home, 7 Summit Ave., Summit, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home at 9:00 am Tuesday followed by 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church in Short Hills. Interment will be private.

Mona was born in Dungannon, Ireland. In the early 1950's she immigrated to the United States and moved to Maplewood, NJ, then to Millburn where she lived for over 50 years.

She was homemaker, as well as a caregiver to the elderly and people in need. She enjoyed walking, going to church, and spending time with her family and friends. She helped the allied war effort of WWII by manufacturing in Ireland.

Mona was predeceased by her beloved husband Bernard F. Cunningham in 2003. She is survived by six loving children, Eileen Cunningham of New Providence, Theresa Filippone and her husband Frank of Millington, Bernard Cunningham and his wife Colleen of Millburn, Monica Olearczyk and her husband Edward of Allentown, PA, Shaun Cunningham and his companion Debbie of New Providence, Michael Cunningham and his wife Laura of Matawan, one sister, Nellie McCafferty of Springfield, four brothers, Dermott and Brian of Ireland, and Brendan and Gerome of Chicago, and 11 beloved grandchildren.
