T. Florida Seneca (nee Gili), 91, of Orange, NJ passed away in East Orange General Hospital, East Orange, on Tuesday, February 2, 2010.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 5th from 2 to 4 and 7 -9 pm at the Paul Ippolito Memorial, 252-256 Henry Street, Orange. The funeral will be held on Saturday at 9 am in the funeral home followed by a 10 am Funeral Mass in Mt. Carmel Church, Orange. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
Mrs. Seneca was born in and a lifelong resident of Orange, NJ. As a young woman she worked as a bookkeeper for Bambergers Dept. Store in Newark and after raising her family she went on to work as an engineering assistant for Sweda International where she helped in the development of the scanners for cash registers.
She was a charter member of the Mama Gili Guild in Orange and the Society of the Holy Face of Jesus for which she held monthly prayer groups at her home.
Wife of the late Joseph C. And daughter of the late Addolorata Immacolata ï¿½Mama Giliï¿½ Gili (nee Penza) and Joseph F. Gili. Loving mother of John, Joseph and Dean Seneca, Vinod Patel, Robin Shaughnessy, Sherri McBride and the late Rodney, Dale Jeffrey and Garry Seneca.
Beloved sister of Fr. Dante DiGirolamo and the late Claudia Phaneuf, Helen Kolverick, Ceasar Gili and Joseph Gili, also survived by 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Alzheimerï¿½s Association, 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834.
