Simon J. Innaccone, Sr. of New Providence, NJ passed away peacefully on January 26, 2013 at the age of 84.
Visiting will be held in Paul Ippolito Summit Memorial, 7 Summit Ave., Summit on Wednesday, Jan. 30th from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The funeral will be held on Thursday, Jan. 31st beginning at 9 AM in the funeral home followed by the Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Peace Church, New Providence at 10 AM. Mr. Innaccone was born in Berkeley Heights, NJ and has been a resident of New Providence for over 70 years.
He was employed as an auto mechanic for Bell Laboratories in Murray Hill, NJ for over 30 years before retiring in 1992.
Simon was well known in the community as a very good athlete in his younger years and someone who can fix anything and will be remembered for his love of gardening and the New York Yankees.
He took great pride in his hard work that resulted in providing for his wife and children and also providing opportunities he never had as a youngster.
He is the beloved husband of the late Catherine J. (nee Pigno); loving father of Phyllis Cohen and her husband Kenneth of Cranford, Anastasia Angelo and her husband Salvatore, Jr. of Freehold and Simon, Jr. and his wife Lisa of New Providence; dear brother of David Innaccone and the late Joseph Innaccone; cherished grandfather of Denise, Melissa, Catherine and Simon, III and Mia; great-grandfather of Charlie; also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
