Muriel E. Shaffer "Moo" of Summit, NJ passed away at her home on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at the age of 91.
Visitation will be held in Paul Ippolito Summit Memorial, 7 Summit Ave., Summit, NJ on Friday, Jan. 25th, from 4 - 8 PM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Teresa of Avila Church on Saturday, Jan. 26th, at 9:30 AM.
Muriel was born in Flatbush, NY to the late Ivan and Elizabeth (Klocksin) Shaffer. She was a longtime resident of Summit, where she was a volunteer for the Summit Rescue Squad, Overlook Hospital, and the Summit Playhouse.
Muriel was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy WAVES.
She graduated from Syracuse University and was employed as a speech therapist for Easter Seals in Morris Plains for many years before retiring.
Muriel is survived by her beloved cousin, John Lee and his wife, Mary, of Summit, and their children, Abby Lee of Summit and Michele Lee of High Bridge.
