Maureen A. Mawby (nee Taylor) of Fanwood, NJ passed away at Runnells Specialized Hospital, Berkeley Heights, NJ, on Friday, February 8, 2013 at the age of 76.
The visitation will be held at Evangel Church, 1251 Terrill Rd., Scotch Plains, NJ, on Monday, February 11th, from 6-7 PM followed by the funeral service to begin at 7 PM. Maureen was born in Chicago, IL and had resided in Fanwood the past 48 years where she was a very active member of the community. She was a P.T.A. president of the Brunner Elementary School and Park Junior High School, chairperson of the Young Peoples Theater in Scotch Plains-Fanwood, secretary of both the Scotch Plains-Fanwood Little League and the Scotch Plains-Fanwood Jr. Raiders, active member of the Fanwood Republican Club, den mother for the Cub Scouts of America and Girl Scout Leader, and a longtime active member of the Evangel Church community, where, among many things, she enjoyed being a member of the Evangel Choir.
Maureen was pre-deceased by her husband, Donald. She is loving mother of Debra Gurski and her husband, John, of Stewartsville, NJ, Scott Mawby and his wife, Kate, of East Long Meadow, MA, and Darren Mawby and his wife, Maureen "Moe", of Scotch Plains, NJ. Cherished grandmother of Taylor, Paige, John, Olivia, Zachary, Evelyn, and William. Dear sister of Thomas Taylor and his wife, Carol, of Berkeley Heights, NJ. She was also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
