Joseph A. Latona of Millburn, NJ passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Overlook Medical Center, Summit at the age of 84.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 7, 2013 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at Paul Ippolito Summit Memorial, 7 Summit Ave., Summit, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, February 8, 2013 at 10 AM at St. Rose of Lima Church, Millburn. Interment will follow at St. Teresa Cemetery, Summit. Joseph was born in Millburn and has remained a lifelong resident.
A lifetime parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church, he was a veteran of the US Navy serving during the Korean War. Joseph was a Firefighter for the Millburn fire Department for 30 years until his retirement in 1992.
Joseph was the beloved husband of the late Mary (nee Lugaro). Loving father of Beth Michael and her husband, Don, of Madison, Scott Latona and his wife, Suzie of Springfield, and the late Brenda Caponnetti and her husband, Ray of Freehold. Dear brother of the late Michelina Pecca and Mary Osmulski. Cherished grandfather of Trey, Taylor, Joseph, Julia, R.J. and Chad. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
