Carmela M. Campano of New Providence, NJ went home to the Lord on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at the age of 85. Carmela was pre-deceased by her loving husband Dominick in June.
Visiting will be held in Paul Ippolito Berkeley Memorial, 646 Springfield Ave., Berkeley Heights on Monday, Jan. 28th from 12:00-2:00 PM. The religious service will be held on Monday in the funeral home immediately following visiting hours beginning at 2 PM.. Interment to follow in St. Teresa's Cemetery, Summit. Mrs. Campano was born in Summit, NJ to the late Vito and Jennie Sabia (Mocerino)and was pre-deceased by her brother Vito Sabia and her sister, Rosemarie Cucco. She has lived in New Providence for over 40 years and was a graduate of high school in Elizabeth.
Carmela was a devoted homemaker and a volunteer at Glenside Nursing Home in New Providence for many years.
Carmela's house was laden with prayers for all. She was a staunch supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and always had a house full of children. Carmela was an amazing women and will be dearly missed. She leaves behind daughters, Linda Campano Smith and Joan Marchell (Harold); grandchildren John Smith (Laura), Tiffany Young (Kayne), Jennifer Ventre (Joseph), Amy Marchell (Doty) and six great-grandchildren.
